The Neo-Cloud Fragility
A notable systemic dynamic is the rise of Neo-Clouds, which are smaller, specialized providers like CoreWeave. While they currently benefit from hyperscaler capacity constraints, their position is shaky. They are built on the assumption of constant AI demand and are often heavily leveraged.
The implication is a classic boom and bust cycle. As hyperscalers like Alphabet eventually bring their own data centers online, the demand for these third-party clouds may soften. Because these Neo-Clouds lack the scale of a hyperscaler, a slight decrease in pricing power could lead to significant trouble.
I am convinced that most of the economic value that comes out of AI is not going to come from the frontier models. In fact, I am a little afraid that these science projects that are consuming so much of the capital will never pay for themselves.

Investors who ignore the operational gap in favor of the narrative may find themselves exposed when the AI tailwind eventually requires fundamental performance to sustain the valuation.
